Editorial
Our Method
Hotel Sunset Bonus is an independent editorial guide. We describe hospitality properties in a consistent structure, then send readers to each property’s own official listing for details that only the operator can confirm.
The categories every entry is read through
Every property on this site is approached through the same five lenses: arrival, rooms, dining, public space and surroundings. Arrival covers the approach, threshold and lobby tone. Rooms describe how guest floors and outlooks are framed in the entry, without inventing inventories or suite names.
Dining notes whether meals form part of the stay’s rhythm on site, again without naming restaurants or menus. Public space looks at lobbies, corridors and shared areas that set the social temperature of a property. Surroundings place the building in its city, waterfront, countryside or mountain context.
Using the same sequence keeps comparisons fair. A lakeside resort and a downtown hotel answer the same questions in the same order, so differences in setting stand out clearly. The categories are a reading method, not a scoring system.
When an entry is thin on one lens, we leave the gap visible rather than filling it with speculation. Silence is more honest than a confident sentence built from guesswork.
Why the entries carry no prices, no availability and no star-ranking of our own
Rates change by season, channel and date. Availability shifts hour by hour. Publishing either figure here would turn an editorial page into a stale snapshot that readers might treat as current. We refuse that risk.
Star classes shown beside a property come from the supplied classification for that venue. We do not invent a second ranking, aggregate review scores, or sort entries by “value.” Our role is description, not comparison shopping.
This guide processes no bookings of any kind. There is no basket, no date picker and no search that pretends to query inventory. When you are ready for operational detail, the listing button on each card takes you to the official listing page.
Leaving commercial mechanics off the page keeps the prose calm. You can read for setting and character without being nudged toward a transaction that this site cannot complete.
Where the photography comes from and what it does and does not show
Photographs illustrate the entry they accompany. They show a property at a particular moment — façade, lobby light, landscape — and are not a guarantee of the condition or layout you will find on a future visit.
Images never stand in for a full tour. They cannot show every room type, every dining room, or every seasonal change to grounds and interiors. We use one primary photograph per catalog card so the visual cue stays tied to a single, named place.
Alt text names the property and city when relevant. It never carries rates, review scores or promotional claims. Decorative use of photography is limited; legal, method, contact and index pages stay typographic by design.
If a photograph feels dated next to an official gallery, trust the operator’s current materials. Our pictures orient; they do not certify.
How to use the listing links, and why the official listing page is always the authority
Each catalog card ends with a single outbound control labelled “Read More About This Stay.” That link opens the property’s official listing page in a new tab. It is the only kind of link that leaves this site, aside from mailto to our contact address.
The listing page is the authority for room detail, house rules, current facilities and anything that changes after our entry was written. If our description and the listing disagree, follow the listing.
We hold no ownership of, agreement with, or authority over any property described. Names and marks belong to their owners and appear here for identification. Independence is not a slogan on this site; it is the reason we never process a stay ourselves.
